For those who value performance arts and the community it creates, MacDowell Male Chorus is a brotherhood formed out of a collective passion for vocal performance with a history dating back to 1934. This bond that chorus members have formed over the decades can be sensed by all who experience it. We believe that everyone can celebrate that same sense of community when we sing and live in harmony.
Over the years, MacDowell has performed more than 500 concerts throughout Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and more. We have a music library of more than 1000 songs, and our membership has totaled over 1000 men during their nine decades on stage. In that time, there have been only five Directors leading the Chorus, the position currently filled by Herb Berendsen who also leads the Oshkosh Chamber Singers and the Accordo-Green Bay Boy and Girl Choir Organization.
