The Wednesday, June 17 meeting of the Appleton City Council will take up a proposed new Tax Incremental District encompassing 500+ acres of the Thrivent property. Significant opposition is expected. This article is a good summary of the issues this proposal raises:

The city of Appleton is proposing to create a Tax Increment District (TID) #14 that encapsulates the majority of the Thrivent property on the north side of Appleton, about 500 acres.
