Hello Everyone!
Here is the buzz about The Hive Wisconsin. I have more than 250 characters to explain what we do.
We just formed as a 501.3c Non-Profit in April 2022. Jeff Melin and Myself (Chris Rowe) have been brainstorming and bouncing off ideas since 2018 to build an accessible apartment complex with a community center. This allowing for like individuals with an intelectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) to thrive in an environment that is specifically built to accommodate and enrich their living situations.
Over the past few years we have seen this weigh on the minds of many parents and care-takers of adults with an IDD. Where is our son or daughter going to live if we are not here? How can I help my son or daughter grow independence and social skills? What activities and programs are there for my son or daughter once they graduate the school system?
What is the project?
We are looking to build a 50+ unit apartment building in the Fox Valley. This would also have a community center, rec center, basketball courts, swimming pool, football/soccer field, baseball Diamond and so much more.
We are also looking to bring in amenities like a small grocery store, a cafe style cafeteria, a salon, a community store.
Another goal we want to do is develop relationships with other community non profit organizations. We are going to have meeting rooms and offices for them to utilize and be closer to the individuals that need them the most.
