The Appleton City Band Concert and picnic prior to the concert was very nice. Well attended by the VIP group. We’re thinking we’ll plan it again next year.
Rod recently received some good feedback regarding the annual membership dues policy. Membership dues were established because of becoming a 501(c)(3) a few years ago.
For anyone that pays dues it means that they are:
• entitled to vote on issues that come up
• be a part of the subsidy when the club subsidizes an event
• it is asymbolic gesture that says you support our mission.
People are welcome to come to our meetings even if they have not paid any dues. We did not want dues to be a barrier for anyone. If people choose to donate money in addition to their dues, it is much appreciated by the group.
Over the last two years, we have been coasting using money currently in the treasury. In 2025, we will need to raise funds. How much depends on how active the group wishes to be. If we have time during the September meeting, we can have a short discussion in order to exchange some initial ideas. During the November meeting we need to decide the course for membership dues and the fund raising plan for 2025.
