IndUS volunteers engaged the attendees of ‘Festival of Cultures’ at UWGB on Saturday, April 25th, in the outdoors at the Mauthe Center over a full day celebrating culture and community! We had a station with a display of arts and crafts of India; samples of samosa, masala chai; and an enthralling sequence of dance performances. Some snippets are posted below.

Raga, Rock and Rhythms, a fusion concert by IndUS of Fox Valley. It was a mesmerizing performance by artists from Sur Academy of Music Academy and Arts and students from Neenah High School. The event began with two classical invocation dances performed by Ananya Ram (Kathak) and Srinidhi Srikanth (Bharatnatyam), then continued with Bollywood Strings featuring the Neeah High School Orchestra. For the main concert, we had Snehesh Nag on sitar, Philip Smyth on violin and guitar and Sutanu Sur' on tabala. They created amazing fusion of various genres of music. from Indian classical, Bollywood tunes, popular western songs, and Irish tunes. Here are some highlights of the event.

We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Dr. Mahendra Doshi (85) on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Dr. Doshi, a chemical engineer by training, served on the faculty at the Institute of Paper Chemistry in Appleton. He later led Doshi & Associates as President, where he specialized in paper recycling technology. A highly respected member of the community, Mahendraji was also a founding member of IndUS of Fox Valley and served as its President from 2007 to 2009.

APPLETON, WISCONSIN – Insight Publications has named the recipients of its 2026 Women of Influence Awards, recognizing 8 extraordinary women who are shaping the future of business, nonprofit leadership and community development across Northeast Wisconsin.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Sridevi Buddi, our VP of board governance, and board president (2016-2019) on being named the 2026 ‘Difference maker in the community’ award recipient for Insight's Women of Influence!

Sri builds collaborations between area non profits and designs need based programming utilizing her strategic planning skills. Her leadership, mentorship of volunteers, succession planning, and commitment to community service as part of IndUS and various non profit boards she serves makes this recognition a well deserved one! Her passion inspires volunteers and non profit professionals across Northeast Wisconsin!

The Women of Influence honorees will be featured in the August issue of Insight and at an awards celebration Tuesday, July 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Oneida Casino Hotel in Green Bay. The event will include networking, lunch and speeches from the honorees who will share their leadership journeys and insights.

A selection committee, including a past Women of Influence honoree and members of Insight’s editorial team, chose the recipients of the seventh-annual Women of Influence Awards out of more than 75 nominations from across the 18-county region.

"Every year, we have the privilege of recognizing women whose leadership inspires everyone around them," said Insight Publisher Angela O’Kray. "These eight women have built businesses, transformed organizations, lifted up their communities and opened doors for others to follow. We can't wait to celebrate them."
