🔦 Coach Spotlight: Quinnesha Hill
🏀 7th Grade Boys – Traveling Basketball

Coach Q has led the 7th Grade Boys (Brown Team) this season with a focus on growth, development, and preparing players for what’s ahead. In addition to coaching, she also serves on the VAA Basketball Board, supporting the program beyond her team.

Her favorite part of coaching? 
💬 “I love getting to know each player individually and helping them learn the game while working through challenges together. Seeing their skills and confidence grow throughout the season is a win for everyone. Creating a supportive environment gives them space to grow as athletes and as people.”

She’s also a VAA parent and understands the commitment youth sports require from families. Fun fact: the ocean is her favorite place to recharge whenever she gets the chance. 🌊

We appreciate the time and effort she’s given to the program this year! 🦅⭐️

Now in his second season with VAA, Coach Quincy is all about growth. His favorite part of coaching?

Quincy is a proud VAA parent to Shaad and brings a great sense of humor to the team, especially when it comes to his reason for running:

💬 “I run a lot - not because I love fitness, but because I love pies.” 🥧

We’ve been lucky to have him back on the sidelines this season. Thank you, Coach Quincy, for helping our players finish strong! 💪🏽⭐️🦅

🏀 7th Grade Boys - Traveling Basketball

Now in his third year coaching with VAA, Coach Zach is focused on helping players grow into confident athletes, while shaping positive habits that go beyond basketball.

His favorite part of coaching?
💬 “Building strong fundamental habits for both basketball and in life.”

Coach Zach brings experience as a former D3 college player, and we’re grateful for the leadership and perspective he brings to the 7th-grade boys this season!

🔦 Coach Spotlight: Anna Pierce
🏀 5th Grade Boys – Traveling Basketball

Coach Pierce is off to a strong start in her first season with VAA, leading the 5th-grade boys brown team and cheering them on every step of the way.

Her favorite part of coaching?
💬 “Watching the growth and teamwork unfold.”

A former cheerleading and gymnastics coach, Anna is also a proud VAA parent to two boys in the program. Outside the gym, she loves to travel and try new foods - and reminds us that when it comes to youth sports: 💬 “It takes a village!”

Huge shoutout to Apple Valley’s 7th Grade Boys' Black basketball team! 🏀👏

These awesome kids went door to door and collected an incredible 831 pounds of donations plus $135 in cash for our food shelf.

Way to show teamwork on and off the court—thank you for making such a big impact in our community!
