Food demand in Minnesota remains at record levels.
In March 2026, Minnesota food shelves saw 859,076 visits - the highest month ever recorded (The Food Group).

The Apple Valley Food Shelf is running low on brown paper grocery bags and would greatly appreciate donations from our community.

✅ Brown paper bags with handles are welcome.
❌ Please, no plastic bags, as they don't work well for packing and distributing food.

If you have extra paper bags at home, we'd love to give them a second life while helping our neighbors.

Donations can be dropped off during the Food Shelf’s regular hours or in the donation bins by Door 3 at Shepherd of the Valley.

🚚 Delivery Drivers (Urgent Need!)
📅 Various days⏰ 8:30 – 9:30 AM
Pick up rescued food from local grocery stores and deliver it to the food shelf. Must have a large SUV or truck.

📦 Monday Delivery Support
📅 Mondays ⏰ 9:30 AM –12:00 PM
Receive truck deliveries and stock shelves. No client contact. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

🛍️ Tuesday or Thursday Food Shelf Volunteers
📅 Tuesdays or Thursdays
⏰ 8:45 AM - 12:45 PM or 12:30 – 4:30 PM
Assist clients with shopping, sort food, and stock shelves.

🥫 Tuesday or Thursday Food Rescue Support & Stocking
📅 Tuesdays or Thursdays⏰ 8:30 – 11:30 AM
Sort food and stock shelves. No client contact required. Must be able to lift 40 lbs.

💻 Resource Support Worker
📅 Monday or Wednesday (9:30 AM - 4:00 PM or Friday (9:30 AM - 12:00 PM)
Make appointment reminder calls and assist with computer data entry from the church.

📌 Substitute volunteers are also needed for all positions.
