🏈 3 SPOTS OPEN FOR 1ST/2ND GRADE FLAG FOOTBALL!

Due to a few unexpected changes to our team roster, we have three spots available on our VAA 1st/2nd Grade Flag Football teams!

To help fill these newly available spots, we’re offering 25% off registration for three new players.

Team Schedule:
🏈 Practices: Wednesdays, 6:00–7:00 PM
🏈 Games: One Tuesday OR Thursday game + one Saturday game

If your 1st or 2nd grader missed registration but would still like to play this fall, we’d love to have them join us!

TRAVELING BASKETBALL REGISTRATION CLOSES AUGUST 31!

Time is running out to register for the 2026/2027 VAA Traveling Basketball season!

Open to boys and girls in Grades 3–8, Traveling Basketball is for players ready for a higher level of competition and commitment while continuing to develop their skills and game.

Season: Mid-October–Early March
Practices: Twice per week
Tournaments: 7–9 tournaments

BOYS AVJO VOLLEYBALL TRYOUTS!

Registration is open for the 2026/2027 Boys AVJO Volleyball season for players in 5th–12th Grade!

New this year, the boys season has been extended through February, giving players even more opportunities to practice, compete, and develop their skills.

Tryouts: Wednesday, September 16
Time: 6:30–8:30 PM
Location: Rosemount Community Center
Tryout Fee: $25

Teams will be formed based on the number of players attending tryouts, along with grade and skill level.

There’s still time to join Little Spikers! Registration for Kindergarten–1st Grade has been extended through September 12.

Little Spikers is a great introduction to volleyball where young athletes can learn the basics, build their skills, and have fun on the court.

VAA Is Looking for a Treasurer!

Are you organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with basic financial information? VAA is looking for a volunteer to join our Big Board as Treasurer!

The Treasurer plays an important role in helping VAA maintain strong financial oversight and supporting our individual sports boards throughout the year.

Treasurer responsibilities include:

Preparing the monthly VAA Treasurer’s Report
Assisting sports boards with budgets and monthly transaction balancing
Reviewing and approving expenses and reimbursements
Assisting with 1099 preparation
Working with VAA’s tax accountant as needed
Providing financial guidance and support to our sports boards

You do not need to be an accountant. We’re looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable with numbers, and willing to help support VAA and our youth sports programs.

Catching up on some great results from a couple weeks ago: Tournament Runner-Up! ⚾

The VAA 10AA team put together another outstanding tournament run, battling their way to the championship game before falling just short against a talented Minnetonka team.

The road to the finals was filled with memorable moments, including an 8-0 shutout victory over Burnsville in the quarterfinals and an unforgettable semifinal comeback against Wayzata. After rallying from multiple deficits, the boys sealed the win with a walk-off three-run home run in extra innings to advance to the championship.

We're incredibly proud of the determination, resilience, and teamwork this group showed throughout the tournament. Congratulations to the players, coaches, and families on another great performance! 💙⚾
