It was another great meeting last night featuring Dan McGuire of Big River Angling Adventures.
As always, we started the meeting with club business, including our upcoming trip to Lake Vermilion. We then talked about where everyone has been fishing.
Dan talked about fishing the Mississippi River Pool 2-4. Our monthly outing for November is Pool 2.

Join us for our August meeting, on Tuesday, and learn more about MVIF. Meetings are open to the public.
🎣🎣 Our featured speaker will be Dan McGuire, the owner/guide of Big River Angling Adventures, which offers Mississippi River (pools 2-4) walleye trips March - December. Dan's presentation will focus on chasing trophy walleyes on the Mississippi River, with an emphasis on fall presentations and strategies.

Thank you to all our club members who came out July 1st, to help the Apple Valley Police Dept put on the 6th annual Casting with Cops youth fishing event, at Cobblestone Lake, as part of Apple Valley Freedom Days. This was the first time fishing for some of the kids, with some lucky raffle prize winners receiving a new rod and reel of their own. What a great way to introduce the local youth to the police and conservation officers who are here to protect and help families out. Thank you Pam and Diane for coordinating everything. And thanks again to our club members who helped out: Jim T, Jeff J, Amy B, Andrew K, Gary G, Ernie C, Jerry W, Don P and Diane A.

It was a great meeting last night, featuring our speaker Nate Berg of Nate Berg Fishing Guides.
We started the meeting with club business and then talked about where everybody's been fishing.
Nate's topic tonight was about the importance of versatility.

Our featured speaker is Nate Berg of Nate Berg Fishing Guides. Nate has been a multi-species guide in the Brainerd Lakes Area since 2002. He also spent 20 years filming and editing fishing and hunting shows for Babe Winkelman and Jason Mitchell. Nate will talk about being versatile in your angling efforts.

We had our May 2026 Outing (17,18,19) on Lake Mille Lacs, there were 15 club members that endured 17mph wind with gusts up to 25mph. Multiple species of fish were caught. Here's pictures of their fish caught.

4 of our club members fished on Mille Lacs for the 2026 Fishing opener. It was a really windy and cold day on Saturday and even forced one of the boats off the lake after hitting some high waves and putting a lot of water in their boat. We went out later in the morning in a bigger boat which handled the waves a lot better. Here are some pictures of the Walleyes caught Sat and Sun. We also had a boat of club members fish Maple Lake and good luck with bass.

Chad then discussed strategies for landing larger bass.
