Great is Thy Faithfulness!
The day we sent our last email, I began to experience pain in my left calf, making it challenging to stand. Upon arrival at the hospital for the surgery to remove my esophageal stents, I shared with the staff about the pain in my calf. The surgeon immediately put my surgery on hold. Tests diagnosed multiple blood clots in my legs and my right lung.
I was admitted to the hospital and started on heparin IV, which is a blood thinner. Typically, people on blood thinners cannot undergo surgeries when taking these types of medications due to the risk of bleeding. However, our highly respected gastroenterologist said he would do the surgery to remove the stents!
In a matter of a few hours, we went from a fear of an extended period of blood thinners and no surgery to remove the stents to NO STENTS and the freedom to eat what I can tolerate. So far, I have tolerated everything! I am now taking an oral anticoagulant and came home after two nights in the hospital.
Please know how grateful we are for your prayers. Your prayers made the difference. The many notes in response to our previous email and social media posts are also meaningful!
Our God is so Faithful!
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness, O God, my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with thee.
Thou changest not, thy compassions, they fail not;
As thou hast been, thou forever wilt be.
Refrain:
Great is thy faithfulness,
Great is thy faithfulness,
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hast provided;
Great is thy faithfulness,
Lord unto me.
