The rainy season is almost upon Peru, leaving an urgent window of just a few weeks to send Brother William Matthews to finish Phase 2 of the "Building Bridges Peru" project before the storms trap our missionaries. Last year, your prayers and generosity sent him to build a critical bridge over the hazardous ditches surrounding the church compound. Because of you, the local community and our missionaries finally had a safe way to enter and leave the grounds, but today, the mission is only half finished and $8,728.00 is urgently needed to keep the community connected.
Time is officially running out. To secure the church and safeguard the local community, Brother Matthews must return to Peru immediately. His mission is to dig drainage ditches for a half-mile down the main road leading up to the church, tying them directly into the compound's existing system.
The essential combination of these new ditches, drainage systems, and bridges is what makes it possible for missionary David Hodges and his team to continue to reach the surrounding areas. Without them, ministry stops when the weather turns.
If these ditches are not dug within the next few weeks, the incoming torrential rains will cause waters to rise waist-high. The main road will become completely impassable, trapping the townspeople and entirely cutting off our missionaries from the people they serve.
We must solve this issue once and for all before the heavy storms arrive. Would you please pray and ask the Lord what He would have you send in to help us cross the finish line? Every dollar brings us closer to keeping this church open, safe, and accessible.

William & Tanya Matthews need to complete phase 2 of Building Bridges at the Compound for David Hodges in Peru. Last year this conference sent Brother Matthews to build a bridge over existing ditches to allow people to enter and leave the church compound. To finish this project Brother Matthews needs to dig ditches for about 1/2 mile down the road leading up to the church and tie them into the ditches surrounding the compound. The rainy season starts in October and water will be waist high prohibiting our missionaries and the people of the town to come and go. It is going to cost $8,728.00. Please pray and ask the Lord what He would have you to send in to help solve this issue once and for all. Recharged and ready to disciple the next generation! ⚡
🙌What an incredible time we had at this year’s Recharged Leaders’ Conference! We are so encouraged by and grateful for everyone who took the time to invest, connect, and grow with us. Here is a quick recap of our time together:
The Laughs: We kicked things off last night with an amazing dose of fun and laughter from the hilarious comedian Brian Bates!
The Worship: Today began by lifting our voices and centering our hearts together in powerful worship.
The Wisdom: We dove deep into some incredible targeted breakout sessions, hearing from IPHC Kids Ministry Director Tiffany Trainor and Tim Shepard, the Program Director for The Initiative for Faith and Family.
The Fellowship: We shared great conversations, connection, and full hearts over lunch together.
The Sending: We wrapped up our time with a powerful, timely word from Pastor Tim and closed with a beautiful prayer of blessing from Tiffany.
A massive, special shoutout to Pastor Eli, Pastor Kelly Hendricks, and the absolute dream team at Lifeway Church for hosting us so beautifully and making this event possible!
We also want to give a huge shoutout to Pastors Hiram and Cidney for all of their incredible help, and for loaning us their girls, Robin and Ana. They are awesome young ladies who jump right in and help out so much!
We are leaving this place truly Recharged for the mission ahead! We are disciples who make disciples!
