Walk for Peace Update: Greensboro to Raleigh ☮️

The Walk for Peace is moving through the heart of North Carolina.

A group of Buddhist monks, along with their loyal dog Aloka, are currently walking across the United States on a long journey centered on peace, compassion, and loving kindness.

Their walk began October 26, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas, and will span roughly 120 days and about 2,300 miles on foot before reaching Washington, DC.

Tuesday Night Stop: January 20, 2026
The monks will rest near Julian, North Carolina. (No visitation)

Next Route Through NC (Starting Wednesday, January 21)

Siler City, NC
Pittsboro, NC
Wilsonville, NC
Cary, NC

Raleigh, NC — Estimated Saturday, January 24, 2026 📆

They have not announced an exact time or location yet, but there is expected to be an opportunity for the public to meet them. They also plan to visit the North Carolina State Capitol while in Raleigh.

As always, dates may shift depending on weather and road conditions.
