In today’s STEAM Session, attendees performed 2 experiments to prove salt can lower the melting point of a solid piece of ice, and 1 experiment to prove polyethylene (a polymer) molecules are so flexible that they can form temporary seals around each wooden skewer pushed through a water filled plastic bag making it leaf-proof temporarily. PALS Board members Curt Anderson, Bonnie Lewis, and Rich Lenhart supervised the experiments. Photos by Library Assistant Isel Whiteley. Apalachicola Margaret Key Public Library
