Today at 3:30 the tones rang again and we were on it! Taking us a few miles away south of sterling to help some of our neighboring departments. All together we were told it was about 50 acres. Sadly a farmer did lose a hay baler but was able save himself and his tractor and get out of harms way. We thank our guys that went just as much as every other departments that showed up as well.

When do we start? When do we begin? You know when? When the tone drops.
It can be in the middle of the day or the middle of the night, but we get up, grab our gear and get moving. We dont do it for the glory. We dont do it for the fame. We do it because we care about our neighbors, no matter the distance, but with that come costs. The lights being on, truck maintenance, fuel bill, our gear and so much more plays into it so everthing is ready! With that being said, we need the community's help so we can continue doing what we do. There's no obligation and this is purely voluntary. No matter what anyone can do, we will take what is offered. This link will take you to a page that will go right to a account for the department to help cover any costs we may come across. Big and small. We thank you all for the support and remember, we're just a phone call away! https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/support-edgewater-park-volunteer-fire-department?fbclid=IwdGRjcAUpJghjbGNrBSkl_GV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHBkb2YFc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQMMzUwNjg1NTMxNzI4AAEeo9b6i4JyZ0UNw5E45OwTBinhwrGK5Uu2tsA3nhmumEEjYIqVaiPw_6s0-JA_aem_uKI9igwYR6CefwH6nGLvhw

Early this morning Edgewater park vfd along with other Comanche county and caddo county fire departments responded to multiple fires in our area along the com-caddo line. All fires were extinguished and all department's returned home safely. At this time, we do not know what may have started the fires but please keep in mind that even with the little rain we received in the last few days, its not enough! Things are dry and a fire can easily ignite. If you think you see smoke, fire or anything that looks suspicious, dont hesitate to call. Keep thinking fire safety!

🔥 FIRE SAFETY NOTICE – PLEASE DON’T HESITATE TO CALL 🔥

With the extremely dry conditions and numerous fires occurring across Oklahoma, we want to remind everyone to stay alert and take fire safety seriously.

Dry grass, high temperatures, and wind can cause a small fire to become a large, fast-moving wildfire in a matter of minutes.

If you see smoke, flames, or something that just doesn’t look right, PLEASE CALL 911.

🚒 Do not hesitate to call because you are worried it may be nothing.
We would much rather respond and find out that everything is okay than be called after a small fire has grown into something much more dangerous.

Early notification can make the difference between a small incident and a major fire.

Please help us protect our community:
• Follow all current burn bans and restrictions.
• Avoid outdoor burning during dry or windy conditions.
• Never throw ci******es onto the ground or from a vehicle.
• Be careful with welding, grinding, mowing, chains, and other equipment that can create sparks.
• Keep vehicles off tall, dry grass—the exhaust system can ignite vegetation.
• If you see smoke or fire, report it immediately.

🔥 When in doubt, make the call. 🚒

Please stay safe, stay aware, and look out for one another.

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — 9/11 🇺🇸
Today, we pause to remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and to honor the courage shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
We remember the 2,977 innocent lives taken that day. We honor the 343 FDNY firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, and all of the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running to safety.
We also remember the families who never got to say goodbye, the survivors who carry that day with them, and the countless responders whose sacrifices continued long after the smoke cleared.
September 11 showed us the worst of tragedy—but also the very best of courage, sacrifice, service, and unity.
From all of us at Edgewater Volunteer Fire Department, we honor their memory today and always.
🇺🇸 Never Forget. Never Forgotten.
🚒 343 — We Remember.

BURN BAN IN EFFECT – COMANCHE COUNTY
The Comanche County Board of County Commissioners has officially declared a Burn Ban due to extreme fire danger conditions. This ban is effective immediately and will remain in place for 14 days, with the possibility of extension if conditions persist. Burn Ban 2-23-26
What’s Prohibited:

Outdoor burning of any kind (grass, brush, trash, campfires, bonfires)

Fireworks (including ignition of fireworks)

Uncontrolled open flames

What’s Allowed (with conditions):

Charcoal, propane, and natural gas grills (must be used over non-flammable surfaces and at least 5 feet from vegetation)

Certain welding/cutting operations (with fire suppression and wind limits)

Approved public fireworks displays (with proper authorization)

Violations may result in fines up to $500 and/or jail time.
