This year’s Building Safety Month Expo is superhero themed, bringing together construction fun and family entertainment for an action-packed morning. Families can enjoy Touch-a-Truck, the Digger Zone, games, raffles, food trucks, contractor booths, and an exciting stunt show, plus kids will have the chance to meet their favorite superheroes and take photos throughout the event. 📸✨

Whether you're interested in construction, curious about building safety, or just looking for a fun family event, there will be something for everyone.

It's almost "Free Dump Week" again, this time from May 4-9. All residents of Apache Junction can enjoy a one-time free drop-off of their load of trash at the landfill in partnership with Republic Services. 🌳🌞

To participate, all you need is to bring your proof of residency (like a water bill) and a maximum of one pickup truck bed size of trash per household. Please note that safety is our top priority, and all visitors are required to wear hard hats and vests while at the landfill. You can wear your own or purchase a set for $15 on-site. 🚧👷‍♂️

The landfill is open from Monday-Saturday, 6 am to 4 pm at 4050 S Tomahawk Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119. Don't miss this opportunity to clean up your space and contribute to the preservation of our environment. For more information, please call (602) 237-2078. 📞💻

Thank you to our small but mighty group of volunteers. Together they cleaned up 120 lbs of garbage and debris between Tomahawk & Ironwood on Baseline this weekend. Shout out to our local high school. We had some AJHS Prospectors out there as well. If you took pictures, please tag us so we can share. 🖤💛⛏️💪

🌿♻️ Recycle Right, Apache Junction! ♻️🌿

Want to make a positive impact on our community? Knowing what and how to recycle is a great place to start.

Residents can recycle a variety of everyday items through Republic Services, including plastics, metal cans, cardboard, newspapers, magazines, paper cartons, and glass. Be sure to empty, clean, and dry all recyclables before placing them in your cart to help prevent contamination.

This service is available for an additional fee of $9.45 per month. Recycling collection takes place every Wednesday citywide. Residents must contact Republic Services to sign up for recycling service and to receive a recycling bin.

It is also important to remember that not all items belong in your recycling cart. Be sure to review accepted and non-accepted materials to recycle responsibly.

Volunteer for the Lost Dutchman Marathon! 🏃‍♂️

We’re seeking volunteers to help make the Lost Dutchman Marathon a success! This incredible event supports local youth organizations focused on helping economically disadvantaged children. Since its start in 2002, the marathon has donated over $900,000 to these vital programs.

Event Date: Sunday, February 16, 2025 📅
Location: Various locations including Prospector Park and the Lost Dutchman Rodeo Grounds 📍

Volunteer Opportunities Include:
✨ Bus Loading
✨ Finish Line Assistance
✨ Finish Line Medical Tent (medical experience preferred)
✨ Food Preparation and Distribution
✨ Registration & Packet Pickup
✨ T-shirt Exchange
