We’ll be officially showing the flyer for 2027 LDD Rodeo Royalty Court at our 2026 LDD Breast Cancer Fundraiser event on 10/17/26! 💝

Come hang out with us for a fun time and great cause! You also can chat with our current rodeo royalty, royalty director, and see why our community is one of the best in AZ to represent!

We’ll be looking for a Rodeo Queen, Sr Teen, Jr Teen , and 2 Little Miss titles at our pageant in January! Flyer and more details to come soon 😁

The City of Apache Junction mourns the passing of former Councilmember David F. Waldron.

For decades, Dave dedicated himself to serving Apache Junction and the greater Pinal County region. His service included time on the Apache Junction Planning and Zoning Commission and multiple terms on the City Council. He also served as Chairman of the Apache Junction Community Development Corporation and held leadership roles with regional organizations.

A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, Dave served from 1968 to 1972, including tours in Vietnam, Okinawa and California. His commitment to veterans continued throughout his life through his longtime leadership of Apache Junction’s Veterans Day Parade and involvement with local veterans organizations.

In recognition of Dave’s many years of service and lasting contributions to Apache Junction, flags at city facilities will be lowered to half-staff for one week in his honor. City flags will also be lowered from sunrise to sunset on Friday, November 27, the day of his funeral services.

The city extends its deepest condolences to Dave’s wife, Kathleen, his family, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside him.

His decades of service to Apache Junction will not be forgotten.

A working smoke alarm can provide the critical early warning needed to escape a home fire safely.

Thanks to a generous Pinal County grant awarded to the Apache Junction Community Development Corporation (AJCDC), Superstition Fire & Medical District has received 100 10-year lithium battery smoke alarms to help make our community safer.

Qualifying Apache Junction homeowners may receive:
🏠 Up to two FREE 10-year smoke alarms per household
⭐ Priority given to seniors and veterans
📦 Available while supplies last

Please note: This program is available for qualifying homeowners only. Renters are not eligible.

🦸‍♂️🚧 Get ready for a superhero-sized adventure at the 2026 Apache Junction Community Construction Expo on Saturday, May 2!

This year’s Building Safety Month Expo is superhero themed, bringing together construction fun and family entertainment for an action-packed morning. Families can enjoy Touch-a-Truck, the Digger Zone, games, raffles, food trucks, contractor booths, and an exciting stunt show, plus kids will have the chance to meet their favorite superheroes and take photos throughout the event. 📸✨

Whether you're interested in construction, curious about building safety, or just looking for a fun family event, there will be something for everyone.

It's almost "Free Dump Week" again, this time from May 4-9. All residents of Apache Junction can enjoy a one-time free drop-off of their load of trash at the landfill in partnership with Republic Services. 🌳🌞

To participate, all you need is to bring your proof of residency (like a water bill) and a maximum of one pickup truck bed size of trash per household. Please note that safety is our top priority, and all visitors are required to wear hard hats and vests while at the landfill. You can wear your own or purchase a set for $15 on-site. 🚧👷‍♂️

The landfill is open from Monday-Saturday, 6 am to 4 pm at 4050 S Tomahawk Rd, Apache Junction, AZ 85119. Don't miss this opportunity to clean up your space and contribute to the preservation of our environment. For more information, please call (602) 237-2078. 📞💻

Thank you to our small but mighty group of volunteers. Together they cleaned up 120 lbs of garbage and debris between Tomahawk & Ironwood on Baseline this weekend. Shout out to our local high school. We had some AJHS Prospectors out there as well. If you took pictures, please tag us so we can share. 🖤💛⛏️💪
