d responsible children that happily appreciate the world around them. GASLF goals include seeing the knowledge gained here result in healthier family meals cooked together from the family’s garden, an increase in the use of renewable energy, and a happier more sustainable community. When families grow their own food then the amount of money spent at the grocery store can be reduced and more children bring their own lunch to school therefore reducing the amount of children enrolled in the Free & Reduced Lunch program which also provides breakfast. This program, while still necessary for some, is taxing on our school system and although there are fresh choices in our school system most children pass by them not having to skill set to make the healthier choices. However by growing their own food they will start to make better choices when available. The curriculum created for each section of Green Acres SLF is based on the California State Standards for each grade. Our goals are to teach the children about all the innovations in green living and how the children can implement this knowledge in their homes with their families through classes and training. We are focused on exploring and enriching a child's imagination about how they can live with the earth and reduce their carbon footprint and improve relationships. Green Acres SLF gives back to the community in many ways. The extra food grown is given to local food banks. The outreach volunteer program do community clean up and build gardens for schools, senior centers, individuals, and communities alike. There will be free classes for mothers to be to learn how to garden and cook. It is a major objective of Green Acres SLF to give back to the community that supports it.

Green Acres Sustainable Living Farm is looking for a new farm in the Coachella Valley to be more accessible to the valley children and families. We are looking for a property that has at least three acres. It must allow farm animals, have available space for educational gardens, and a small home for a care taker. This past year has been an amazing year of growth for our organization. We would like to thank you for your support and participation in our efforts to educate children. We have started many family gardens and inspired children to be active in their decisions about food. All in all it was an outstanding year. We are so excited about the year to come and look forward to expanding into the Coachella Valley. We hope this year brings each of you happiness, joy, and excellent health!

It’s that time a year again for PENTA’s Annual Desert Charity Classic and we would love to see you help out these two wonderful organizations; FIND Food Bank and Green Acres Sustainable Living Farm.

· FIND Food Bank is a non-profit, community based organization that is dedicated to providing food to people in the Coachella Valley who struggle to feed their families. FIND provides food for over 90 other non-profit agencies in the Coachella Valley.
