Melanin Unlimited is honored to lead coordination for the Contra Costa Nonprofit Board & Community Partnership Fair this past weekend. With over 510 people registered and roughly 300 showed up ready to connect, learn, and lead.
All centered around one goal: increasing diverse leadership on nonprofit boards across Contra Costa County.
With 70 nonprofits and 50+ community partners present, the energy was powerful.
But what meant the most?
Having my children right there with me.
My daughter, , representing Melanin Unlimited and , stepping confidently into leadership.
And my son, Xavion Babers , Board Treasurer of Melanin Unlimited, coming home to support me behind the scenes—helping bring everything together.
That moment reminded me…
This isn’t just about events.
This is about legacy, leadership, and building the next generation.
