The Branch of Nashville

The Branch of Nashville We provide food assistance to families and seniors, online and in-person English classes, and support to finding other needed resources.

Our Food Pantry is a place to meet the temporary food needs of families and seniors who are struggling to make ends meet. The ESL classes are taught to individuals who need to improve their speaking, writing and overall knowledge of English and American culture. Our vision is to build a community where everyone can thrive. The Branch is a place of life and hope and a place where the love of Jesus is poured out to all.

So grateful for these wonderful young people from the Alpha Chi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc at Tennessee State University who came and volunteered at The Branch!

Their smiling faces and hard work made a difference in the lives of neighbors. It's not just about doing tasks- volunteering at The Branch means putting food on the tables of struggling families, and bringing hope and positivity to people who desperately need it.

In these photos, you may see folks cleaning, stocking shelves, or filling boxes. What they're actually doing is FEEDING FAMILIES. One team of volunteers equals lots of neighbors receiving food boxes, a smile, and hope.

The Branch is continuing to evolve into a community resource center, and we care very much about helping our neighbors achieve well-being in every area- physically, emotionally, socially, and even financially.

We are so glad our friends at Fifth Third Bank will be hosting a free Financial Literacy 101 workshop at The Branch! No registration is necessary and everyone is welcome!

Fifth Third Bank wants to provide financial education sessions to help our community build financial confidence, increase financial knowledge, and bring awareness around important financial topics.

Spotlighting our awesome volunteer Kevin! Kevin has become one of our most dependable food rescue volunteers, helping recover food from locations across Nashville and ensuring that good food reaches neighbors who need it most.

Whenever a last-minute food rescue opportunity comes our way, Kevin is often the first person we call—and he has never hesitated to say yes. His willingness to step in at a moment’s notice has made a tremendous impact on our pantry operations and the families we serve.

In addition to his food rescue efforts, Kevin is an invaluable member of our warehouse team. Whether he is organizing and stocking in our cold room or helping manage our USDA inventory, he approaches every task with diligence, positivity, and a servant’s heart.

Kevin, thank you for your dedication, flexibility, and unwavering support of The Branch. We are incredibly grateful to have you as part of our team and for the many ways you help us serve our community. Your generosity and commitment make a difference every day!

The Branch team is so thrilled to introduce you to Monserrat Lopez, who goes by Monse (pronounced MON-say.) Monse joined us recently as a Case Manager, and she has already been such an asset to The Branch.

Monse works one-on-one with neighbors to set and achieve personal goals by providing bilingual (English/Spanish) case management, connecting them with community resources, offering advocacy and support, and helping them navigate essential services to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency.

Monse's family has Mexican roots but she has always called Nashville home. She has a degree in Social Work from Belmont University, with a minor in Psychology. Her love for our community shines through in all of her interactions with neighbors.

We are so happy to have Monse on our team!

A new school year should begin with hope and excitement—not worry about the cost of supplies. But for families already managing rising expenses, backpacks, notebooks, and pencils can place even more strain on the household budget.

Thanks to the generosity of the Hispanic Family Foundation, 100 local students received backpacks filled with the supplies they need to start the year feeling prepared. 🎒💚
