Please join us on Monday, December 1st at 6:00 p.m. for our December potluck. The Club is providing: ham, chicken, potatoes, gravy, biscuits, corn and beans. Please bring any other dish including desserts. We have a lot going on that evening! Local Grammy winning artists will join our local scout troops to perform holiday songs with us. After some short announcements and introductions, we will have a presentation by The Turnip Green Creative Reuse. We will close with Commander Carlos Lara, the new precinct commander for the brand new Southeast Police Precinct, who will update us on goals at the new precinct.

Please encourage folks to join us who don't have plans, don't want to travel, don't need to spend the money, or who just want to be around other thankful people on this day. If you know someone who cannot get out, let us know and we'll find volunteers to deliver a meal to nearby addresses. We will have game tables set up. Bring your favorite game! There will also be tree decoration happening. Please come prepared to share your Thankful list for 2025 for a special project.

We will have food for 100 people. Cooking will begin at 07:00, setup will begin at 10:00a, and meals will begin at 1:00p. To-Go box availability will begin about noon. Several of you have volunteered to help - thank you! We can still use a few folks between 10 and noon to do final preparation.

Join us THIS Monday night, October 6th, at 6pm for our annual fall cookout. We'll provide hamburgers, hot dogs and smores. Please bring a dessert or side to share. We'll be outside, so feel free to bring your own chair and an instrument if you'd want to play. Otherwise, come hang out and meet your neighbors around the campfire!

Monday is our monthly potluck meeting, and it is going to be a big one! Please join us at 5:45 (yes, we are trying to start a few minutes early) for burgers, chips, and hotdogs. Please bring any side that will go with burgers and chips. The club will provide: Grilled burgers, grilled hotdogs, bagged chips, mayo/ketchup/mustard, lettuce, tomato. Anything else you bring will be appreciated. We will be eating inside..

We have two big guests for this evening. TDOT will give an update on the Choice Lanes program that will impact I-24. Then Metro Planning will provide an update on the Southeast Study and their ideas for our area. They are seeking feedback. Please come and provide feedback. We've often fussed about not feeling like we were heard when the plan was tweaked several years ago. Monday, we need to show up and provide our thoughts. They are very familiar with our Cane Ridge Community Resource Declaration and the Cane Ridge Community Development Standards. They have tried to incorporate many of those standards.

Please arrive by 5:45 Monday. We will begin serving then and begin the programs by 6:15. We could use help setting up and cooking burgers/hotdogs at 4.

We are finally getting new floors at the Community Club! The building will be closed from Sunday, June 8 to Saturday, June 21 for renovations. Volunteers are needed to help prepare the building for the work.

Help Needed:

Sunday, June 8 (12:00–6:00 p.m.): Load all items (light, heavy, rolling) into a box truck. We have to empty the building.

Monday, June 9 (10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.): Touch-up painting and cleaning.

What You Can Do: Lift, carry, roll, clean, paint. Supplies will be provided, but extra 4-wheel dollies and 5-gallon buckets would be helpful.

Please join us this Monday, June 2nd, for our monthly Potluck Dinner. Our special guest will be Esther Mwandiko Kitenge from Tanzania, Africa. Esther and her husband, Leon, have lived in our community several years. Leon is a researcher at Vanderbilt and Esther works with refugees in our community. She will do a short presentation on the Juneteenth holiday and provide information regarding refugees, immigrants and aliens. This is an opportunity to ask an expert questions regarding topics that are sometimes confusing.

We will begin serving food at 6:00. The program begins at 6:30. We will finish at 7:30. For this meal, we are providing pork roast, chicken, beans, corn and cornbread. Please bring any side dish.
