Join us for these events—raising the pride flag to highlight the civil rights movement for LGBTQ+ people that started at the Stonewall Inn June of 1969

And a FREE community chalk art event to bring us all together for art activities—with the help of the Valley Arts Council—what does community mean to me? what does pride mean to me? etc…

The event is made possible through the Valley Community Foundation sponsorship grant. We thank you VCF. https://share.google/olDQhDYgDwcgJ1r6e

So proud of our Valley PROUD Center students from Ansonia MS- Anyla, Maia, and Mike, who presented a workshop for the SOGIE conference at UConn with 75 middle & high school students, teachers, social workers, etc….

The topic was “Fix the Wall” —what works and what could use improvements in our schools.

A shout out to 8th grader Robert for offering moral support to his friends— and volunteer Jeremiah, for his videos and pictures— the biggest shout out goes to principal David Brown for working with the students developing the workshop.

Had a nice visit from Katie Maron from the Connecticut Charter Schools Association to the Valley Proud Center and then to the Boys & Girls Club —the future space for PROUD Academy until we find a forever home.

Katie arrived with a bag full of flashlights for the students in our after school program just in time for the storm—- along with a stack of books for parental advice on guiding children on technology use. THANK YOU Katie 🙂
