Jones County Nehemiah Project Our purpose is to help "comfort and rebuild” by meeting and assisting the philanthropic needs of the Jones County community.

Nehemiah, of Hebrew origin, means "Comforted by God." According to the Book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament, he was a leader of the Jews who was responsible for the rebuilding of Jerusalem after the return from the Babylonian captivity. Nehemiah 2:18 “I also told them about the gracious hand of my God on me and what the king had said to me. They replied, ‘Let us start rebuilding.’ So they began t

his good work.”

Nehemiah 6:16 “they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.“

The purposes for which the Corporation is organized are “to comfort and rebuild” the lives of those in need, including, but not limited to:

1) Providing basic necessities for residents of Jones County including clothing, food and school supplies.

2) Providing educational tools, mentoring, tutoring and other assistance to at risk populations.

3) Meeting and assisting the philanthropic needs of the Jones County community.
