That flip phone, MP3 player, camcorder, or box of mystery cords from 2008 doesn’t belong in your trash or curbside recycling. Many older electronics need to be taken to a designated electronics recycling location instead.

Take Pride and Recycle!!!

Plan ahead for Take Pride in Jacksonville Day on April 18!

See our schedule below:

Main Street Cleanups
Volunteers will spruce up the city by collecting litter on our main streets. Registration is at City Hall located at 320 Church Avenue SE beginning at 8 a.m. Organize your neighbors for the spring cleanup of your neighborhood!

Free Landfill Day
From 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Jacksonville-Piedmont Landfill
*Construction debris not included
*Only available to Jacksonville residents

Calhoun County Landfill
From 7 - 11 a.m.
* Available countywide
Document Shredder sponsored by RMC
Limit six standard-size bags or boxes per vehicle; drop at City Hall from 8 a.m. to noon

Recycling & Trash
Items include: cardboard, paper, plastic, electronics (except for monitors and televisions), batteries and paint cans. Drop off at City Hall between 8 a.m. and noon.

This cleanup event is sponsored by the City of Jacksonville, Calhoun County Landfill, the Calhoun County Commission, Jacksonville State University, Anniston Regional Medical Center and the Keep Alabama Beautiful Program.

The Calhoun County Commission proclaimed April 12-18, 2026 as Alabama Extension Week! The Calhoun County Extension Office was presented the proclamation at the April 9, 2026 Commission meeting.
Serving the community, strengthening homes, providing resources, inspiring the future, making a better Alabama. Extension Does That!
