CICT REGISTRATION IS OPEN‼️

Registration is now open until August 12 for a FREE 12-week training program to be held in Oxford in the fields of commercial carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and welding for adults looking to pursue a career in the respective commercial construction fields.

🧰These classes are open to any adult 18+ desiring to begin a career in commercial construction at NO COST thanks to a grant from the Alabama Construction Industry Craft Training Board - CICT.

🛠️Classes begin August 18 and will be either M/W or Tue/Thu from 5:00pm-8:30pm. This is based on instructor availability.

🪛Classes will be held at CREATE;
1 Cliff Garrett Dr. Oxford, AL 36203.

🛠️You will receive a phone call to the number your provide on or before August 13 if you are accepted or wait listed.

🧰Each class is limited to 15 students.

CREATE UPDATE‼️

Do you have a 10th -12th grade student in public school that lives in Calhoun, Cleburne, Talladega, St. Clair, or Clay county who wants to take a class this upcoming school year at CREATE?

We still have openings in our 3rd block (approximately 1:15pm-2:45pm) in the following programs:

• Law Enforcement

• Engineering

• Green Power

• IMPACT (Electrical/Mechanical Industrial Maintenance) which is a dual enrollment class in partnership with Gadsden State Community College.

We had an amazing first year, serving over 300 high school students daily, 400 adults through our evening commercial construction classes, and welcomed over 1300 guests through events such as our Ribbon Cutting, Robotics Competitions, Ecosystem Meetings, guest groups and tours, Vis1on, Tech and Tinker Camp, and just this week, our inaugural SparkSTEM camp in partnership with the Alabama STEM Council.

Thanks to the hard work during this year’s legislative session by Senator Keith Kelley, Representatives Steve Hurst, Chad Robertson, and Mark Gidley, CREATE received a $1.1 million appropriation to fund operating and personnel costs to allow us to add additional instructors for the purpose of expanding to multiple school systems.
