Today, we are proud to introduce A Path To Peace, a woman led nonprofit dedicated to creating supportive and integrated housing, including housing for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, alongside equine therapy and agricultural programs. Our vision is to create a place where dignity, opportunity, healing, and connection can thrive. Our flagship project is at the historic birthplace and childhood home of philanthropist Johns Hopkins, a remarkable property on a little over 13 acres in Anne Arundel County, Maryland.
Over the next three years, we will focus on stabilizing, rehabilitating, and reimagining this historic property so it can serve a meaningful purpose for generations to come. As the initiative grows, we anticipate creating up to 22 Maryland based full time jobs and part time apprenticeship opportunities.
Our vision is grounded in both professional experience and personal commitment. With a background in residential real estate, we recognized an opportunity to help address the urgent need for more housing options, particularly for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our experiences navigating support and health care systems, along with our connection to the autism community, continue to shape our mission to promote integration, independence, dignity, and long term well being.
We are deeply grateful for the encouragement and partnership we have already received from neighbors, advocates, leaders, organizations, and supporters. We look forward to sharing updates as this work progresses and welcoming others who want to help shape what is possible. We believe transformational places can create transformational outcomes, and we are grateful to begin this journey.
