⚓️ Congratulations to the SPPA Class of 2026!

💙 We had a fun afternoon yesterday celebrating our Firstie Families. After a delicious lunch, members read letters to each of our Firstie families written by their Midshipmen. Every family was presented with a flag flown over the US Capitol, a printed copy of their Mid’s letter and a vase of flowers as gifts from SPPA.

💛 It was an honor to celebrate the Class of 2026 families who were all dedicated SPPA “Don’t Give Up Dessert!” Midshipmen Tailgate volunteers. We look forward to seeing them back at future SPPA tailgates as Alumni.

USNA Southeastern Pennsylvania Parents Association (SPPA) would like to extend a warm welcome to families from the Class of 2030 and NAPS/Foundation students from Philadelphia and the surrounding areas to our 2026 Welcome Aboard Picnic. Any families from our area that missed the opportunity to join the parent club in a previous year are also welcome!

Happy Valentine’s Day to our SPPA Midshipmen and the entire USNA Brigade! 💘

This past Saturday, SPPA assembled 54 Dark Ages Care packages for our current Midshipmen. Each of our Mids received over 40 items donated by families or purchased by the club. Candy, cookies, bookmarks, snacks of all kinds, a succulent plant and custom “Don’t Give Up Dessert” mugs were some of the items included in their bags.

It was an all hands on deck project to fill those bags to the brim to bring a smile to our Midshipmen’s faces! One of our dedicated SPPA families raced to the Yard to beat the storm and get the bags to our Mids on Saturday night.

The tailgate may be “on leave” until Fall 2026, but the mission of “Your Mid is my Mid” and continues!

Giving Tuesday ❤️

At each Navy Football home game, our organization hosts a dessert tailgate for the Brigade. This “Taste of Home” is a welcome treat for the Mids as well as an opportunity for them to receive support from Navy parents while they are away from home.

We saved the best for last! ⚓️

The final “Don’t Give Up Dessert” Midshipmen Tailgate for the 2025 season was a fantastic one. Thank you to all of our SPPA members and supporters for providing so many delicious desserts to serve to the Brigade. Carrot Cake, Banana Bread, Lemon Crinkle Cookies, Cheesecake, Homemade Buckeyes, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Soft Pretzels and SO MANY PIES were all on the buffet! 🥨🍪

We were grateful to have volunteer servers from Scouting America Troop 6G with us yesterday. We also had a special visit from our Founding Mother, Helen Callas-Reiner (‘91 and ‘92 USNA Parent) who joined us to serve the Mids. 🥰

🎟️ At the tailgate yesterday afternoon, we announced the winner of our 2025 Army/Navy Game Raffle Package!

🏆The winner was Mark Davidson!

⚓️Thank you to MIDN David and members of 16th Company for helping to announce the winner.

💙 A big THANK YOU to all of the SPPA supporters who bought raffle tickets this year. All proceeds from the raffle help us to fund our service project for the Brigade of Midshipmen where after every Navy Football Home Game!
