✨Congratulations to Mary, outstanding exchange visiting teacher from the Philippines, on being recognized as Teacher of the Month, nominated as Distinguished Teacher, and designated as an Exemplary Teacher in her District for her incredible work teaching 5th grade students Reading and Language Arts in Texas. Her dedication, passion, and commitment to US student success inspires everyone around her! ✨

Mary shares, "My experience with American culture has been positive and eye-opening. I learned how diverse the U.S. is and how schools value inclusion, creativity, and student participation. I enjoyed experiencing different traditions, holidays, and community events. I also learned the importance of independence, open communication, and work-life balance. This cultural exchange
helped me become more adaptable and understanding of different perspectives."

We also love seeing exchange teachers embrace the adventure beyond the classroom! From making a difference in student lives to creating special memories with her spouse at Disneyworld, she is making the most of her exchange.

Thank you Mary for building bridges of understanding through education and representing the Philippines with pride. We are honored to support educators who enrich their US schools, communities, and the lives of their students daily. 💙

🌎Rubi, originally from the Dominican Republic, is a Dual language Spanish-English 5th grade exchange teacher working in Massachusetts. She has the world in her hands and passion for education in her heart, as a global educator building bridges daily through cultural exchange! 💙

Rubi shared, "The experience I have had during this first year of my exchange program has been truly invaluable. I have learned countless teaching methodologies that are highly effective in the teaching and learning process. I have also gained a deeper understanding of the proper ways to support students with learning difficulties, which has greatly enriched my teaching style and professional growth.

At the same time, I feel very proud to bring and share my culture with others, because it has made a meaningful difference and has helped make my classes unique and engaging. I would not have been able to gain so much knowledge, growth, and experience without this opportunity.

This year her elementary class won the door decorating contest. Rubi shared, "One of the most heartwarming parts of the experience was hearing my 5th grade students say, 'A Dominican teacher had to come for us to finally win.' It was such a beautiful moment that reflected the bond we built together and how proud they felt of our accomplishment as a team."

Well done Rubi, your students are learning about the world and the power of connection! 💙🌏

🩵In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we are proud to share the successful and joyful AAPI Celebration that Kelly, and the international exchange visitor teachers, hosted at their school in Arkansas. This event shows how US schools and communities are enriched through inspiring international teacher Exchange Programs - U.S. Department of State!

"It was a very successful celebration, well attended by parents, community members, and school staff. My students performed a choral piece while I accompanied them on the xylophone. We then proceeded with a Filipino cultural dance presentation together with my students, during which I played the drum and joined them in the performance. In addition, we also presented a folk dance alongside my fellow international teachers."

Thank you to Kelly and all exchange teachers for bringing your talents, traditions, and heart into US classrooms and communities every day. Your impact reaches far beyond the school walls. 🌏💫
