Here ye, here ye! The new Caper is HERE! Come and get it!

If there’s one thing that is predictable this time of year, it’s that the weather will be highly unpredictable. Those thinking we were going to slide into summer after a warm spring were mistaken. The 80’s from a few weeks ago were merely a tease for what has amounted to jacket weather again. Frustrating. All we can do it prepare for the warmer temperatures – this new Caper gets us doing that.......

NEW STICKER INFORMATION!!

Capers,

It's that time of year again! The great sticker swap needs to be completed! Effective May 1, 2026 BLUE is OUT and SAND is IN! Please make sure you have your stickers up to date and that they are AFFIXED to the outside of your vehicle as required.

When used, guest parking passes must be hung from the rear view mirror and visible from the outside. Remember all guests MUST be accompanied at all times by a resident when using CSCIA amenities.

!! Only affixed stickers and properly displayed guest parking passes are granted parking privileges. !! Improper display or expired stickers/passes = no parking!

Stickers and guest passes were mailed out in early April. If you have not received yours, please stop by the CSCIA office Monday-Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. The top reasons for not receiving stickers are unpaid maintenance fees (dues) or the failure to provide required vehicle information. To avoid further delays, please bring a check or cash for any payments (we do not accept credit or debit cards) AND your vehicle information!

Please don't make us do it......but, vehicles without proper credentials are subject to tow at anytime and without notice!

Capers,

A message from our Friends at Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks:

Greetings from Recreation and Parks! We need your help!

Every five years, we develop a roadmap to guide the future of our parks, facilities, and land preservation efforts. Because this plan is built entirely on public input, your perspective as a community leader is invaluable.

We’re asking you to take a few minutes to complete our
2027 Land Preservation, Parks and Recreation Plan survey
and, if you’re comfortable, share it with your HOA members.
Your feedback ensures that the county’s future priorities—from new trail developments to program improvements—directly align with the needs of your neighborhood.

As a thank you for your time, completing the survey enters you for a chance to win Rec & Parks giveaways!

Our community will once again partner with the Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) under the Mosquito Control Program. Under this program, MDA will fog our community to control mosquitos on MONDAY nights during the fogging season. If MDA needs to fog on a different night, a MDA press release will be issued and residents with an exception will be notified by them.

The estimated fogging season is June 3, 2026 through October 6, 2026. Fogging operations will occur between 7pm and 2:30am. Please stay indoors while fogging operations are being conducted.

Residents who do not wish to have their property fogged may file an exemption. The exemption policy and form can be found in the CSCIA Office or online here:https://mda.maryland.gov/plants-pests/Documents/MosquitoControlExemptionForm.pdf

Capers,

As you know we announced the beginning of the Little Magothy River Dredge last week. This is an AA County/ State of MD Waterway Improvement Funding Grant on behalf of the Little Magothy River Association (LMRA) and their SCBD, which roughly 70% of the homes are in platted lots of Cape St. Claire.

Last week's announcement link if you missed it:

https://www.facebook.com/100064549875893/posts/1223430763151908/

Given the time of year restrictions from a regulatory standpoint in the State of Maryland for dredging different points of the channel, we wanted to let Capers know, we have come to agreement with the Contractor, Shoreline Design on parking some equipment during the dredge project (approx. two months).

We will allow up to two excavators to be parked on the beach (sand portion) of Main Beach. (See Picture)

When necessary and to help increase the efficiency of the project (saving the county/ state potentially money or time), we felt it was a good project to support. We benefited from the last dredge and hope to be recipients again in future maintenance dredges with LMRA as long term partners in co-beneficial reuse dredging.

The contractor will "walk" the equipment off a barge and on to the beach using mats and park them landward of Mean High Water Line (see designated area of use in photo circle). There will be no activity other than loading and unloading equipment and all liability falls to the contractor per our agreement among other stipulations.

Please keep off all equipment, it will be marked and signs posted, but please if you see them loading/ unloading, stay safely away until they are completed their task.

Also you may see contractors vehicles parked near the overlook. On Monday, they parked on the walkway to the beach, tomorrow and beyond they will park in a way that does not impede the flow of foot traffic, we apologize for any inconvenience on Monday.
