This month is dedicated to honoring the history and accomplishments of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, and q***r individuals of all ages! While we remember the triumphs of LGBTQ+ history, we must also remember those who have been lost along the way, and the continuing struggle for q***r and trans rights.

October is Long Term Care Planning Month!

Long-Term Care Planning Month aims to raise awareness among older adults and caregivers about potential cost of healthcare as they age. Nearly 70% of adults 65 or older will eventually need some form of long term care.

Long-term care can include activities like grooming, dressing, eating, bathing, meal preparation, and other activities of daily living. Most retirement savings and insurance plans do not cover many aspects of long-term care. Starting to save earlier can help you live your best life for longer!

October is Residents' Rights Month!

Residents’ Rights Month celebrates individuals in long-term care and home or community care, emphasizing their dignity and rights. This year’s theme “Join us at the Table” reminds us that all residents have the right to dignity, choice, and self-determination, and that includes the right to enjoy meaningful, person-centered dining experiences.

The Ombudsman Program is dedicated to protecting residents’ rights, and acts as an advocate for residents in assisted living and nursing homes.
