Both the Eastern and Western monarch populations depend on pockets of monarch habitat in our homes, public spaces, towns, and cities. Since the late 1980s, the Eastern monarch population has declined by more than 80%, and the Western monarch population by over 90%, clear signs that monarchs need our help.

Send a message to your local leaders and encourage them to take the Mayors’ Monarch Pledge and commit to monarch conservation!

Imagine if communities across the U.S. took local action to expand essential monarch habitat across the monarch’s vital breeding and migratory areas. We could give monarchs a fighting chance!
