Boy Scout Troop 1214

Boy Scout Troop 1214 We meet every Wednesday night at 7:00pm at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Annapolis, MD
Summer meetings & times may differ The Troop meets year-round.

Boy Scouts is a program for young men (and women in their own Troops) ages 11 to 18. Our program is high energy, fast pace and theme oriented. We conduct a weekend campout in most months and spend a week each summer at a Boy Scout Summer Camp. Troop Organization
The Troop is organized and managed by a group of older Scouts and facilitated by a group of highly experienced and trained adult Scouters

. The boy leader of the Troop is the Senior Patrol Leader. He is elected each year by the Troop members. The Troop is organized by patrols. Each Patrol consists of a boy Patrol Leader and a boy Assistant Patrol Leader with 4-6 other Scouts. The Patrol Leaders are selected by the adult leaders and he selects his assistant. Our summer program is a weekly "Olympic" theme with a variety of fun outdoor skills such as: biking, hiking, golf, swimming, canoeing, archery, standup paddleboarding, and a cardboard boat race. We conduct a variety of service projects throughout the year during our camping trips, for the Elks, and for our surrounding communities. We are hosted by the Annapolis Elks Lodge and Integrated Financial Strategies supports and is the Chartering Organization that sponsors Boy Scout Troop 1214 for the Baltimore Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Day 1 of camp!

The camp director talked to the entire camp about the meaning of the flag, the patriots that have come before us for the past 250 years to protect our country and nation. They called forward the Senior Patrol Leader to highlight the dedication call to the Troop leadership to “lead from the front,” to be committed to making their Troop, the camp, and nation a better place. They presented the Troop leadership with special neckerchiefs as the “mantel of leadership” to demonstrate that leaders are set apart and must “wear” their leadership in every aspect of theirs lives.

Our Scouts headed out this morning for a week at Cherokee Scout Reservation in Yanceyville, NC!

Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers for a safe, fun-filled week full of adventure, new friendships, and memories they’ll be talking about for years to come.

A huge thank you to our adult leaders for giving up a week of their own time to lead, mentor, and invest in these boys. We truly couldn’t do it without you.

May everyone come home with great stories, a little more confidence… and hopefully all of the same socks they left with.

Our Sea Base crew is back, and what an adventure it was!

A week in the Florida Keys gave these Scouts the experience of a lifetime. They lived aboard a sailboat, learned to navigate open water, snorkeled vibrant coral reefs, spotted incredible marine life, fished, swam, cooked their own meals, and worked together as a crew every step of the way. From breathtaking sunsets to nights under the stars, every day brought a new adventure and memories they’ll never forget.

High-adventure trips like Sea Base are just one of the many incredible opportunities Scouting offers. Whether it’s sailing the ocean, backpacking through the mountains, climbing rocks, or serving the community, Scouts build confidence, leadership, and friendships that last a lifetime.

And we’re not slowing down—next up is Summer Camp! We can’t wait for another week filled with outdoor adventures, new skills, merit badges, and even more unforgettable memories.

This week’s Court of Honor celebrated our Scouts’ accomplishments from the spring. Congratulations to everyone who earned their Camping, Cooking, Citizenship in the Community and/or Personal Management merit badges—each one is required on the path to Eagle Scout.

A special congratulations to Finn on earning the rank of Star Scout and to Will on advancing to Second Class and being Scout of the Quarter. We’re proud of all the hard work and dedication these Scouts continue to show!

One day they’re climbing rocks. The next, they’re cheering on cowboys in Cody, Wyoming.

Our Scouts got a front-row seat to the Wild West at the rodeo, where the horses were bucking, the cowboys were flying, and the excitement never let up. Safe to say it was a bucking good time!
