Our Story
Annapolis Elementary is an innovative school in a traditional setting. Although our building, over one hundred years old, is the oldest public school in the state, it is completely renovated as of 2014. It is not out of place in the city's historic district. The state capital building, Naval Academy, city dock, museums, and many historic sites are within walking distance from the school. Our diverse school population of approximately 210 students is drawn from two nearby communities: Historic Clay Street, and Historic Downtown. We are fortunate to have active, supportive families from each of these communities.
Our PTA mission is to promote welfare of children and youth at school, home and throughout the community. We endeavor to raise standard of home life, advocate for law for further education, physical and mental health, together with the welfare and safety of children/youth. We strive to promote the collaboration and engagement of our families and support our educators to the best of our ability. Our PTA provides, plans and executes all before and afterschool programs, community events, PBIS incentives and various field trips.
