⚓ **Troop 422: Day 4 — Setting Sail!** ⚓

Big transition day — camp life to boat life! ⛵

🚩 Final flagpole ceremony, complete with the classic Florida Sea Base jokes one last time — "425 bottles of water?! I can't drink that much!" 😂 Hi Phil! 👋
🧇 Waffle breakfast after (of course) another challenge to earn it
🏷️ Put our 422 patch on the wall — marking the troop's first visit to Sea Base in a long time. History made! 🎉
🎒 Packed up, stowed the extra gear, and said goodbye to the dorms
⛵ Split into three crews, each assigned a Morgan 41 ketch — privately owned boats leased to Sea Base, each with its own captain
📦 Loaded gear, helped provision, and set sail around noon: *Stormalong* first out, then *Seminole Wind*, then *Fiddler's Green* — which absolutely lived up to its name on the way out! 😅

From there, every crew had their own adventure — sailing, snorkeling, fishing, eating, and somehow drinking 4-5 bottles of water each (45?!? that flagpole joke got real fast 💧). A brilliant sunset, an almost-full moon 🌔 over the water, and the night wrapped up with distant lightning storms lighting up the horizon — nature's own show before everyone drifted off to sleep at sea, on deck and below, to the sound of wind and water. ⚡🌊

⚓ **Troop 422: Day 3 — Shoe Chaos, Reefs, and a Luau!** ⚓

Buckle up, this one's a lot — in the best way. 🌊

👟 Started the day with a shoe-tossing contest to see who got first dibs on the galley — brilliant chaos, and yes, the adults are absolutely stealing this for chore duty back home 😂
🤿 TWO scuba dives: Davis Reef (where divers rubbed the Buddha's belly for good luck 🙏) and Davy Crockett Reef
🏊 Snorkeling excursion at Rocky Top — and every scout earned their snorkeling award! 🎖️
🌅 Happy, sunburned, and thoroughly exhausted crew rolled back into Sea Base
🎉 Capped it off with our last night on base: the Conch Luau! Beach volleyball, limbo battles, and a killer Florida seafood spread — mahi mahi, shrimp, and key lime pie for the win 🍤🥧
🥽📖 At the very end of the day, scouts settled in to work on their scuba merit badge, thanks to super leader Dawn! 💪🦸‍♀️⚜️

Full day, full hearts, very full bellies. One more incredible day in the books. 🏝️

⚓ **Troop 422: Day 2 — Into the Deep!** ⚓

The real adventure began Friday — scouts hit the water for real! 🌊

✅ Passed swim test and scuba orientation/certification test (nailed it! 🎉)
⛵ Loaded up on our boat, the *Shadowfax II*, and set sail like true pirates of the Keys
🤿 TWO dives in one day: Long Key Ledge (hard coral) and Pillars of Atlantis (soft coral) — two totally different underwater worlds, back to back!
🐠 Whether diving or snorkeling, we were swimming through an absolute fish party down there
🎶 Captain kept the vibes immaculate with a killer playlist all day long
🍊 Refueled between dives with sandwiches, sliced Florida oranges, and pineapple — let's just say the fruit didn't stand a chance 😂
🥤Milkshakes and popsicles reenegerized everyone on return
🐠 Evening activities included Fish Hiking, no, giving fish IDs🪪, nope, it was a fish identification class with bingo and prizes at the end, then more milkshakes, popsicles, pingpong, co****le, foursquare and
🛏️ A sound night of sleep to prepare for the next day of adventure and fun

Massive shoutout to our divemaster and crew — legends, every one of them. First real dive day = complete success, and these scouts were already buzzing about what's next. 🌅

⚓ Troop 422: Day 1 in the Books! ⚓
First full day at Sea Base and these scouts hit the ground running! 🏝️
✅ Checked in and got the full tour of camp
🚩 Experienced our first Sea Base flag ceremony
🥤 Multiple milkshakes consumed (priorities, right?)
🍭 Discovered the homemade popsicles are dangerously good
🌡️ Got a proper introduction to Florida heat — Annapolis did not prepare us
🌊 Learned about sargassum... and its, uh, distinctive smell 😅
High energy, big smiles, and the adventure was just beginning. Reef Trek, here we come! 🤿

🌊⚓ Troop 422 Takes the Keys! ⚓🌊
Adventure officially underway! Our crew of 12 scouts and 11 adults arrived safely in Islamorada, Florida Thursday morning, ready to trade the Chesapeake for the coral reefs at Florida Sea Base Reef Trek High Adventure. 🐠🤿🥽🏊‍♀️🏖️🩴🐚
This week: SCUBA diving and snorkeling the reef, sailing, marine conservation work, and more salt water than these Annapolis scouts know what to do with. 😂
Every great adventure has to start with a great meal so we convened at Habanos Cafe for cubanos and other great food.

Troop 422 Annapolis is proud of the strong connection we have with military families, with many veterans and active military members among our leadership, a significant military family membership, many activities held at and in conjunction with the USNA and various veteran groups, and multiple scouts attending and commissioning from the military academies.
