What started as a small student Green Team at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church & School in Gaithersburg, Maryland has grown into something remarkable 🌿

From just four students to about 60 youth, these young leaders are transforming their school through hands-on creation care.

They are planting native trees, building pollinator gardens, supporting a food pantry through garden harvests, and leading recycling efforts that connect faith, learning, and service.

Recognized with the Gaithersburg Environmental Award, their impact is already visible but there is much more to the story.

Summer is coming and we are thinking about what that means for children and families 🌿

In a world filled with screens and constant technology, getting kids outside is more important than ever. Time outdoors creates space for growth, curiosity, and connection.

We help faith communities and youth connect creation care with hands-on outdoor learning, encouraging children to see nature not just as something to enjoy, but something worth protecting.

Simple outdoor moments can spark a lifelong respect for the environment. These experiences also support children’s health, creativity, and emotional well-being.

This summer, we invite families to step outside, explore together, and help raise a generation that loves and protects the world around them 🌱

Summer is here and at IPC we cannot help but notice what that means for all of us 🌿
Longer days and the return of green space are more than beautiful scenery. They are an invitation to step outside, slow down, and reconnect.
Time in nature has a way of lifting stress and calming the mind, even in small moments. When we care for creation together through planting, restoring, and protecting, we also strengthen our communities.

At IPC, we see environmental stewardship as part of caring for people too.
