💙 Remembering Robert “Al” Hamlett

Anne Arundel CASA mourns the loss of longtime CASA volunteer Robert “Al” Hamlett.

Al recently completed his final CASA case, where he played an instrumental role in helping reunify a child with his family. Those who worked alongside Al shared that he developed a special relationship with the child and family he served—a reflection of the compassion, dedication and heart he brought to his work as a CASA volunteer.

Al understood what it means to be a consistent, caring presence in a child’s life. His commitment to the children he advocated for made a lasting difference, and his kindness will not be forgotten.

We are grateful for the time, heart and advocacy Al gave to the children and families he served.

Our deepest condolences are with Al’s family, friends and all those who were fortunate enough to know him. May his memory be a blessing to the many lives he touched.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Larson, a beloved member of the Anne Arundel County CASA family.

Sally's compassion, generosity and unwavering commitment to children in foster care left a lasting impact on our organization and our community. Named CASA's Volunteer of the Year and recipient of the CASA Caring Heart Award in 2013, she exemplified what it meant to serve others with kindness, grace and humility.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Sally's family and all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her legacy of compassion will continue to inspire us.

In lieu of flowers, Sally's family has requested that memorial donations be made to Anne Arundel County CASA in her honor.
