Fish For A Cure

Fish For A Cure (F4AC) is a fishing tournament and fundraising challenge that makes waves in cancer care in our community.

Fish for A Cure (F4AC) began in 2007 as a way for friends to enjoy the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay, fulfill their passion for fishing, and have fun. After a successful first year, the wife of one of the main participants was diagnosed with cancer. A rigorous treatment schedule and the demands of daily family life nearly led to the end of the tournament. However, a few of the group members took th

e reins and turned the fishing tournament into a charitable event to raise money for cancer care in our community. F4AC has since raised over $4.5 million to support the Cancer Survivorship Program at Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.

The 2025 Fish For A Cure Tournament, Paul C. Dettor Captain’s Challenge, and Shore Party brought our community together once again to celebrate hope on the water, and the impact YOU made is incredible.

Since its founding, F4AC has raised more than $7.7 million to support the Cancer Survivorship Program at Luminis Health AAMC’s Geaton and JoAnn DeCesaris Cancer Institute.

And this year alone, your generosity helped us raise a record-breaking $1.2 million to fund critical survivorship services for patients and families right here in our community. 🎣💙

Last night’s Captain’s Meeting brought together leaders from every boat to review tournament rules, pick up their gear, and build excitement for this Saturday’s tournament, all for a great cause. 🎣💙
