This weekend was the annual Oyster Roast Regatta, hosted by Thistle Fleet 34 at Severn Sailing Association. The Oyster Roast is part of the Thistle East Coast Fall Series, and is always one of the highlights of the Thistle Class Association racing schedule.

After Saturday's races the Thistlers feasted on oysters and appetizers provided by the Fleet. Thanks, as always, to Doug Freeman and his loyal crew for steaming the oysters, and to Cairn Krafft and Mary Pat McNulty for putting on an amazing regatta.

For those of you who know Joe McCorkle and remember that he was a member of Thistle Fleet 34 several years ago, I saw on his page today that he is facing a serious medical situation. I tried to share his post but somehow this page won't allow it. So if you want an update, go to his page and read his latest post on Caring Bridge. He seems to be in the hands of the best medical care, and we wish him and Lisa and the kids well as he faces this battle and treatment for a tumor in one of his vertebrae.
