**Special Announcement **
Each year on June 23rd, we remember Olivia and the day that changed our lives forever. On June 23, 2011, Olivia died in a sailing accident, and we continue to reflect on the person she was and what she meant to so many people. Olivia had a sweet nature and was kindhearted, funny, with a larger-than-life personality. She loved others deeply and was truly “One of a Kind.”
The Olivia Constants Foundation (OCF) was established to “Do all we can, for whomever we can, in the “Spirit of Olivia.” Over the years, the Foundation not only helped many of
us through the grief process, but it also created a legacy that has profoundly changed
countless lives. We are forever grateful to our donors and supporters who have remained
an integral part of the OCF family. Olivia’s spirit and legacy lives on through your support
and love.
Since the OCF was founded, we have been able to achieve many milestones, including:
*Scholarship Program: Awarded 120 college scholarships to empower the next generation
of young adults and future leaders.
*Educational Support: Granted over 27 awards to the local school system to ensure
students have the resources necessary to reach their full potential.
*Community Service: Committed to regular volunteer work at the local homeless shelter,
serving breakfast to those in need.
*Support for Families: Provided essential assistance to mothers transitioning from
homelessness into stable, secure home environments.
*Advocacy and Enrichment: Championed anti-bullying initiatives within the school district
and facilitated unique sailing experiences for community members.
At the same time though, we have come to recognize that some foundations have a natural life cycle. For nonprofits to thrive, consistent fundraising is essential, and we believe the time has come for us to transition to a quieter, more reflective chapter. The OCF gave friends, family, peers, and the community a meaningful way to heal from the loss and to honor Olivia’s sweet nature through service. At the present time, we recognize that life has
changed for all of us. We will now move into what we call a quiet mode, with less public
visibility and no active solicitation of donations, while continuing to do all we can in Olivia’s spirit.
We thank our Board of Directors, past and present, for their commitment, professionalism,
dedication, and friendship, as well as for their willingness to honor the memory of a 14-
year-old in such meaningful ways. A special thank you goes to Board member Kim
Digiovanni Aluisi, who was instrumental in encouraging us to start the OCF, and helped
guide us through many important milestones. Kim later fought courageously through
pancreatic cancer before passing away in 2016.
It is always challenging to capture a person’s essence into a few words; however, if one were to summarize Olivia’s unspoken motto, it would be: “Laugh often, Love daily, be a
shining light to others”. May we all be encouraged to embrace that motto and carry Olivia’s spirit forward.
