Over the last 6 years, we have collected and donated over 65,000 gently loved and new warm articles of clothing to those in need in our community. On one of my many business trips to Kalamazoo, Michigan, I met a young boy (Samuel) who has been collecting thousands of blankets for the homeless Samuel's Blankets for the Homeless. 44,000 ARTICLES OF WARM CLOTHING
Year One (2019) - 500+ sweaters, hoodies, and fleeces collected and distributed. Year Two (2020) crushed our goal of 1,000 sweaters….we hit close to 8,000! Year Three (2021) Over 10,000 articles of warm clothing were collected and distributed. Year Four - (2022) We became an official 501c3 and collected over 12,500. Year Five - (2023) Over 14,000 articles of warm clothing were collected and distributed. All clothing was distributed to food pantries, churches, and those in need across the State of Maryland. Eastport United Methodist Church, Heritage Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Mt Zion, Taylor Heights Elementary School. Distribution will also take place at Annapolis Gardens, Bay Ridge Gardens, Stanton Center, The Light House Shelter, and locations in Howard and Baltimore City.
