Young adults ages 18–24 will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in community engagement, nonprofit leadership, advocacy, event planning, and civic leadership—all while making a meaningful impact in Annapolis.

August 17th is officially proclaimed National Nonprofit Day! Anne Arundel County

Today, we honor the staff, volunteers, and organizations serving our community every day. Tracing back to the federal Tariff Act of 1894—which first established tax-exempt status for charities—today celebrates over a century of mission-driven work.

Nonprofits are also a major part of our local economy. They employ 1 in every 10 Maryland workers, with 7% of the state’s nonprofits operating right here in Anne Arundel County.

From Brooklyn Park down to Deale, and Crofton over to Annapolis, our local nonprofits ensure no resident is left behind. When crisis hits, they step up as first responders—providing emergency shelter, food assistance, and mental health support.

To keep operations running on the ground, Anne Arundel County proudly supports this work through investments like $2 million in grants recently awarded to 69 local groups.

Nonprofits cannot do this work alone. Whether you donate, advocate, or volunteer your time, every contribution helps make Anne Arundel County “The Best Place for All.”

🎉🎉The results are in and we are so excited! 🎉🎉

Our FAVORITE part of CCLC is serving these amazing students and their families! We are so proud of their academic, social and emotional growth. This program works and it shows! But don’t take our word for it- hear from some of our students and parents about why out of school time programs are so important!

⭐️2025–2026 Student Academic Impact ⭐️

-Overall growth in average ELA and Math grades

-5 Students improve 10+ percentage points in English Language Arts

-5 Students improved 10+ percentage points in Mathematics

-Some students demonstrated gains of 20–34 percentage points in core academic subjects.

Despite a 6-week program pause, our students returned STRONGER and finished the year with measurable academic growth. But numbers aren’t everything. Behind every percentage is a student who worked hard, a family who stayed engaged, and a team who never stopped believing.

🎉 We are excited to share some incredible news!

2-CM Dreams has been awarded a $75,000 grant from the Anne Arundel County Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission (CRRC)!

This investment will help us expand access to the Chesapeake Bay through sailing while growing our innovative after-school programs that introduce youth to STEAM, maritime careers, leadership, and environmental stewardship.

Students will participate in the following programs:

🤝 Youth/Peer Mediator & Advocate

🌱 Monarch Garden & Environmental Stewardship
