If a bee had Wi-Fi and anxiety, it would still struggle to keep up with this bird.

Ruby-throated hummingbirds are important pollinators that help support healthy native plant communities and ecosystems.

This Pollinator Month, learn how Coastal Resources, Inc. works to support environmental conservation, habitat protection, and resilient ecosystems across the region.

A pretty good reason to love working in Annapolis… 🌊

Some days we’re in the office collaborating on projects.

Some days we’re out in the field doing hands-on environmental work.

And sometimes we get the chance to take the team out on the Chesapeake Bay. ⛵

Being based in Annapolis means we don’t just work in the community. We get to appreciate it too.

Real work. Real places. Real purpose.

We’re excited to be attending the 2026 AMAC Airport Business Conference! 🛫

Join us June 10–14, 2026 at the Ga***rd National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.

This event brings together airport leaders, industry partners, and innovators from across the country, and we’re looking forward to connecting, sharing what we’ve been working on, and exploring new opportunities to collaborate.

📍 If you’ll be there, we’d love to connect. Schedule a time to meet with our team at the booth or reach out ahead of the conference to set up a conversation.

We look forward to seeing you at National Harbor!

Most people driving past a construction site see progress.
Our teams see something else entirely.

We see the drainage patterns that could become future erosion problems. The sediment controls that need to hold during the next storm. The grading, landscaping, and environmental requirements that have to be verified long before a project is complete.

That is the work Coastal Resources, Inc. (CRI) does every day across the Mid-Atlantic Region.

By identifying issues early and helping projects stay aligned with permit conditions and contract documents, our environmental and compliance inspection teams help keep construction projects moving forward with confidence.

It may not be the part of construction most people notice, but it is one of the reasons successful projects stay successful.

The bugs are judging your water quality. 🐛 💧 🪲

Environmental scientists use benthic macroinvertebrates like insects, snails, and other bottom-dwelling organisms to help measure stream and aquatic health through a process called BIBI, or Benthic Index of Biotic Integrity.

At Coastal Resources Inc., our scientists collect and analyze samples from streams, small rivers, and estuaries across the Mid-Atlantic to assess water quality and biodiversity. These organisms act as natural indicators of ecosystem health because different species respond differently to pollution and habitat change.

The higher the BIBI score, the healthier the stream.

What looks like a jar of “water bugs” is actually one of the most useful tools we have for understanding aquatic ecosystems.

Follow Coastal Resources Inc. for more behind-the-scenes environmental science and fieldwork from across the Mid-Atlantic.

Congratulations to everyone who made it to the finish line! 🥾

The May 2026 Basic Wetland Delineation Course hosted by Environmental Concern Inc. and taught by instructors from Coastal Resources Inc. was a complete success.

Participants completed more than 40 hours of training while gaining hands-on field experience in wetland identification, soils, hydrology, vegetation, and regulatory applications under Section 404 of the Clean Water Act.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in the field and helped make this course such a great experience.

Interested in attending the next course? Fall registration is now open:

One of North America’s rarest orchids is out here hiding in the woods 🌿👀

Our field teams are conducting Small Whorled Pogonia (Isotria medeoloides) surveys, searching for a species that is incredibly difficult to detect in its natural habitat.

Small whorled pogonia is federally listed as a threatened species and can easily blend into forest floor vegetation due to its size and coloring. It also depends on very specific habitat conditions, which makes each confirmed sighting important for conservation planning and responsible project development.

Field surveys like this require patience, training, and attention to detail, but they play a key role in protecting sensitive species before work moves forward.

If your project requires rare plant surveys or environmental compliance support, our team provides experienced field crews and thorough habitat assessments across the region.

Nature does not draw borders, and neither does conservation.

As National Endangered Species Day approaches (May 15th), we are reminded that protecting biodiversity goes beyond individual species. It is about understanding and protecting the interconnected habitats and systems that support life. When those systems are disrupted, the impacts extend far beyond a single place or species.

Through field studies, environmental assessments, and thoughtful design, our work helps support ecosystems where development and wildlife can coexist in balance.

Every habitat matters.
