Wrestling is a unique sport in which participants compete against others of equal weight. An athlete succeeds in wrestling based on his or her own efforts. As such, it is a great developer of self-reliance, tenacity under adversity, and hard work. As a result, the sport of wrestling helps young people develop characteristics such as self-esteem, sportsmanship, work ethic, leadership, and grit.

Peyton Miller is a two-time State Qualifier and placed 4th this year as a Junior. Throughout most of his middle school and elementary years, he played basketball and football. As a freshman varsity offensive lineman, Peyton began competing in wrestling. The leverage skills and positioning techniques he uses in wrestling translate well to his play on the offensive line in football. Wrestling matches also provide Peyton with an opportunity to compete in the winter, when football playoffs end.
