This past weekend was a powerful reminder of why collaboration and continued learning are so critical in EMS education.

With over 300 attendees, 18 displaying vendors, and a lineup of presenters who are clearly passionate about advancing our profession, this conference was an outstanding success. The depth of knowledge, real‑world experience, and commitment to education shown throughout the sessions made for meaningful learning and engaging discussion at every level.

We are incredibly grateful to our displaying vendors, whose support helps make this event possible year after year. Their partnership plays a vital role in strengthening EMS education and ensuring access to the tools, resources, and innovation our providers rely on.

A special thank you to our session presenters! Your dedication to teaching, mentoring, and pushing our profession forward was evident in every presentation. The energy, expertise, and authenticity you brought to the conference elevated the experience for all who attended.

We were also honored to recognize several individuals through award presentations, celebrating excellence, leadership, and service within EMS education. These moments of recognition reflect the high standards and shared values of this community.

Perhaps most importantly, the conference highlighted the strength in numbers - networking, idea‑sharing, and collaboration among educators, providers, and leaders from across the region. It was especially encouraging to welcome first‑time attendees, new members, and those new to the profession. Your presence reinforces the future of EMS and the importance of investing in those just beginning their journey.

Thank you to everyone who attended, presented, exhibited, and helped make this weekend a success. The impact of this conference will extend far beyond the sessions—and into classrooms, agencies, and patient care across our communities. We're already looking forward to the fall conference!

Day One at is in the books!

Yesterday’s sessions were well attended by more than 300 EMS educators, from our general sessions to breakout sessions and the Society’s General Membership Meeting. It was energizing to see so many EMS educators actively engaged, asking questions, sharing experiences, and learning from one another.

Day One featured a strong lineup of educational opportunities, including general sessions focused on the importance of standards in field training and a Michigan EMS update with Q&A, along with multiple breakout sessions covering topics such as creative teaching strategies, working with a new generation of learners, pediatric behavioral emergencies, EMS and autism considerations, and the thoughtful use of technology and AI in EMS education.

The General Membership Meeting was also well attended and marked an important moment for the Society. We extend a sincere thank you to our outgoing Board of Directors members for their service, leadership, and dedication to SMEMSIC. Your contributions have helped move EMS education forward across the state.

At the same time, congratulations to those nominated and selected by their peers to represent the Society on the Board of Directors and who officially took their seats at yesterday’s meeting. We appreciate your willingness to serve and look forward to the leadership and perspective you bring.

With two more days ahead, we’re excited to continue the momentum with more education, collaboration, networking, and idea‑sharing — all focused on strengthening and advancing EMS education in Michigan.
Thank you to everyone who helped make Day One such a success!
