HL7 workforce modeling estimates demand could grow from approximately 120,000 FHIR-skilled practitioner-equivalent roles today to 420,000 by 2031, while another 1.1 million people across healthcare may need meaningful FHIR literacy.

Building the next generation of interoperable healthcare will require more than standards and infrastructure. It will require investing in the people who can put them to work.
