The Alpha Delta Phi Literary Society was established in 1832 at Hamilton College, and is the fourth-oldest fraternity in North America. Alpha Delta Phi's founder, Samuel Eells, believed that other student organizations at Hamilton College lacked integrity and had a negative influence on students and the community. He therefore endeavored to create a new, expansive, self-perpetuating organization t

The Peninsular Chapter of Ann Arbor is the oldest existing fraternity on the Ann Arbor campus. The current house built in 1910 sits at the heart of campus next to South Quad, West Quad, and the Michigan Union. Besides being the center of social and academic life on campus the Peninsular Chapter provides athletic, networking, and philanthropic opportunities for its members. Throughout its history, undergraduate Brothers of the Peninsular Chapter have been active members and leaders in their college, local, and international community. The House celebrates a proud military heritage that spans every single conflict that has challenged our nation from WWI to the present day.
