Hello, my name is Erik and I am an engineering student at the University of Michigan and the K-12 Outreach Officer of Tau Beta Pi, the engineering honor society. I'm excited to announce our MindSET events for this semester! MindSET is a free opportunity for 3rd - 5th grade students to come to campus and participate in STEM projects, such as lunar landers, bottle rocket launching, and bridge building, under the guidance of U-M engineers. We'll be running three MindSETs in the month of November with the first two being in person and the third remote. Today is the day! Drop by the TBP High School Major Fair this afternoon 1-4 p.m. and win up to $25 by asking questions to our volunteers! At the event, a group of top U-M students will be sharing what their major is about and what life is like at college. By holding the major fair, we want to encourage high schoolers to pursue higher education and become an awesome engineer.

To enter the raffle, you need to visit at least three booths and ask volunteers at each booth about their major. You can gain additional entry in the raffle for every booth visit beyond the three required ones. You need to be a high schooler to enter the raffle (duh). We have at least three $25 Amazon gift cards ready to hand out!

Hello Tau Bates and friends! Please join us at our MindSET modules for kids in grades 3-5 in the upcoming weeks, where we'll teach STEM concepts through hands-on experiments.

This semester, our three modules include learning about unclogging arteries, Python programming with Turtle, and working with a paper plane factory. All participant costs are covered. We are very excited to meet and learn with the younger generation!
