🏇Think You Know Honey Run’s XC Course? Think Again. 👀

We’ve heard from a few riders who are on the fence about entering this year’s Honey Run Horse Trials because they feel like they’ve “jumped this XC course before.”

And honestly? We get it. When you’ve ridden at the same facility a few times, it can start to feel like you know what’s coming.

But we’re OFFICIALLY putting that rumor to rest for this year.

Our course designer, Cathy Wieschhoff, started working on this year’s course back in JULY. Since then, 55 jumps have been set, moved, rearranged, and reimagined for the Horse Trials. Even the start box moved. 😏

Add in all the XC jumps that received makeovers this year, and the course you think you know might not be quite so familiar after all.

And we couldn't be more excited to have Cathy designing it!

Cathy brings an incredible amount of experience to Honey Run. She has competed nationally and internationally, including at Kentucky CCI**** and Burghley CCI****, and teaches clinics throughout the U.S. (including one at Honey run this year!).

Her credentials include:

🐝 ECP Certified Level V Instructor
🐝 USEA “R” Eventing Cross-Country Course Designer
🐝 USEA “R” Eventing Show Jumping Course Designer
🐝 FEI Level 2 Cross-Country Course Designer

🐝How Well Do You Know Honey Run? Here's a little Monday morning Honey Run history!

Do you know what year the original Honey Run equestrian easement was established?

A) 1974
B) 1984
C) 1994
D) 2004

🥁 The answer is… 1984!

That's right — Honey Run's equestrian easement has been around for more than 40 years! In fact, it's older than the person writing this post — and opportunities to say that about things are becoming increasingly precious, so I'm taking the win. 😂

Long before many of us ever walked a course, volunteered at an event, or pointed a horse toward a cross-country fence here, people were already working to make sure this special piece of property remained available for equestrian use.

Here's to the years of hoofprints at Honey Run — and many more to come! 🐎💛🐝

🐝 A New Way to School at Honey Run! (I was going to wait until this evening to post the update, but the buzz you've created on my teaser post has me too excited!!)

Beginning August 15 through October 31, we’re testing a new TEAM Daily Membership option!

Until now, schooling at Honey Run required an annual TEAM membership. During this trial period, riders can instead purchase a $45 Daily Membership, which includes schooling at Honey Run for that day.

To be clear, this is essentially a one-day Honey Run schooling pass—but insurance is a persnickety thing, so officially, it’s a Daily Membership. 😉

This might be perfect if you’re coming from out of town, want to school before our USEA event, are joining your trainer for a schooling day, or simply want to try Honey Run before committing to an annual membership.

Annual membership is still the best value for regular visitors plus you accumulate TEAM points, have voting rights, and other member benefits. Daily memberships DO NOT include those perks.

Daily members will still complete the same paperwork and follow all Honey Run schooling rules like an Annual TEAM Member does.

We’re going to give this a try through October 31, see how it goes, and bring the results back to the TEAM Board to decide whether Daily Memberships should become a permanent option.

👀 Hypothetically speaking… What if you could come school at Honey Run without committing to an annual TEAM membership?

Maybe you’re not local. Maybe your trainer is bringing a group. Maybe you’ve always wanted to check out Honey Run but weren’t sure an annual membership made sense for you.

Would that change things for you? 🤔🐝Just curious. Totally hypothetical.
