Watching the City's Comprehensive Plan Subcommittee presentation on zoom, we witnessed recommendations to consolidate residential zoning into three broad categories: neighborhood residential (zoned R1, R2, R3), mixed-use transition (35’ to 120’ zoned R4, R5, R6, RE), and mixed-use hub (55’ up to 300’ zoned D1/D2, TC-1). The Old Fourth Ward is clearly in a middle, mixed-use transition zone, butting up to a high-rise, mixed use hub zone to the south and west. Historic districts were never mentioned, and seem not to be an attribute of the proposed plan updates.

We are a friendly and diverse neighborhood. Hearing a group chatting on the sidewalk in front of our house, I opened the door to a group of students with their teacher Mr. Carone talking about the house. So.....I invited them inside. Mr. Carone insisted on a photo and I made sure to get one, too. This is why we love our neighborhood!
