Yesterday was a meaningful and full day representing the KASGAA.

In the morning, I attended the Michigan Detroit Korean Community Roundtable hosted by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chicago. During the meeting, the consular official shared updates on key foreign affairs and overseas Korean policies, while also taking time to listen carefully to the voices and experiences of local community members.

I was grateful for the opportunity to share perspectives from the Ann Arbor Korean community and to discuss the importance of continued connection, communication, and support for Korean Americans living in Michigan. It was especially meaningful to see a space created for open dialogue and community engagement.

Later in the afternoon, I joined the World-OKTA Detroit & Windsor Small Chapter Revitalization Event. I was invited to perform traditional gayageum music, and what began as a planned performance turned into a very memorable and joyful moment when an unexpected song request led to an impromptu singing performance as well!

Throughout the day, it was wonderful to share good food, reconnect with familiar faces, meet new people, and reflect once again on the strength and warmth of our Korean community here in Michigan.

At the KASGAA, we continue striving to build a welcoming and connected community through cultural exchange, intergenerational support, and meaningful engagement with the broader local community.
