The Third Annual Folk Festival is approaching! We are incredibly excited for this event, and have lots to show off! Leading up to the festival, we will be sharing some sneak peeks, answers to frequently asked questions, and where to find your favorite instructors.

Deanne Bednar, Homesteading: Deanne will be with us showing off the whimsical side of homesteading arts.

Amanda Howell, Gardening + Farming: Amanda will be with us showing off the Victory Garden and discussing ongoing volunteer projects and selling her wares.

Shelby Lincoln, Animal Husbandry: Shelby will be with us to discuss the benefits of keeping quail and chickens!

Victor Wooddell, Archery: Vic will be with us to show off handmade longbows! He is a graduate of our apprenticeship program and worked under Master Bowyer, Leo Schreiber.

Dante Yglesias, Photography: Dante will be with us to show off his photography skills! Pay him a visit!

The Third Annual Folk Festival is approaching! We are incredibly excited for this event, and have lots to show off! Leading up to the festival, we will be sharing some sneak peeks, answers to frequently asked questions, and where to find your favorite instructors.

Justin Polley, Head Chef: Justin has been with the Folk School for a long time and guides the vision of the Learning Kitchen classroom. He will be there to discuss all of the possibilities in the kitchen!

Silent Auction: Comprised of instructor and staff made goods -- all proceeds go toward the mission and vision of the Folk School, as well as the 2027 Folk Festival! Our auction will be partially online this year, to allow for a swifter and more cohesive donor experience.

Garage Sale: Lightly used craft supplies and equipment -- get good stuff at an even better price! First come, first served.

Demonstrating Instructors on the East Portico:

Kirk Coppernoll, Mushroom Cultivation and Identification: Kirk will be with us to discuss his classes in mushroom cultivation and wild mushroom identification!

Joey Traynor, Woodworking: Joey will be with us to demonstrate spoon carving skills and vending his wares.

Irene Hochgraf Cameron, Woodworking Bushcrafter: Irene will be with us to demonstrate her decorative wood carving skills and various bushcraft applications, in addition to selling her wares.

Demonstrating Instructors in the Murray Classroom:

Michael Daitch, Weaving, will be with us demonstrating how to properly work a floor loom, displaying last year's 19 Foot Long scarf made at the Folk Festival, and selling his wares.

Michael Kaufman-Schofield will be with us demonstrating basketry from natural materials and educating interested folks about death care and natural burial!

Kathy McMinn will be with us demonstrating basketry skills and all of the possibilities that basketweaving can accomplish and selling her wares!

Frains Classroom Demonstrating Instructors:

Jessica Bowden, Leather Craft Instructor, will be with us demonstrating some leather skills and showing off what Leather Craft 101 can open the doors to!

Iman Hathaway, Stained Glass Instructor, will be with us demonstrating some stained glass skills and selling some of her wares.

Tully Williams, Stained Glass Instructor, will be with us demonstrating some stained glass skills and selling some of her wares. She is a graduate of our apprenticeship program -- going from star student to stellar instructor!
