The Hampsong Foundation

The Hampsong Foundation Promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding through the art of song! http://hampsongfoundation.org

Founded in 2003 by American baritone Thomas Hampson, the Hampsong Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which creates platforms to support and proliferate the art of classic song—poetry set to music—from around the world as a means to enhance communication and understanding among cultures. We share our findings with the public—and especially students and educators—through workshops, ma

ster classes, recordings, performances, and—above all—new media. Through http://HampsongFoundation.org and its sister website, http://SongofAmerica.net, we provide rich interactive resources and meeting places for educators, students, singers, and lovers of song.

Today, we celebrate Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy--we encourage you to listen 🎼to Adolphus Hailstork's "Songs of Love and Justice," a song cycle setting Dr. King's words, with Dr. Louise Toppin as soloist.

His words continue to ring true...

"When evil men shout ugly words of hatred
Good men must commit themselves to the glories of love."

"Ev’ry man must decide
Whether he will walk in the light.
Life’s most persistent and urgent question...
What are you doing?"
